The Hooper House was the first structure established in what is now our Pioneer Village. It is a replica of a farmhouse from the turn of the century, originally situated on its farmstead near Osceola, Missouri, in St. Clair County.

In 1984, the Hooper House and Summer kitchen were dismantled, moved, and reconstructed by the Corps of Engineers, utilizing the remnants of the original buildings.

The house was selected for its architectural importance, as it exemplifies farmhouses from the region.
